Hi,
I'm looking for an easy to implement open source search for a pretty small community site (less than 50 pages and documents/forms.) If you know of a good solutions that: 1) doesn't require you to include their ads, and 2) doesn't necessarily require a database That would be great. Regards, Karen |

I am sorry, no i don't have any suggestions. Not much help i know. Why is no one responding on the forums? I am signed up to several php groups and i have noticed that on meetup, people use it for nothing but information posting. I have had a lot of positive results from google php groups on questions like this.

Hmmmm, Easy?
Easier than Google search, that will be hard! Easier than JavaLucene ---------> http://framework.zend... An even easier implementation is to offload searches to google or bing with the "site:" switch. Take a look at this link: http://www.google.com... You just have to make sure that your pages have very clean with semantic HTML markup and are getting indexed by the engines and your docs have links to them as direct downloads. 1 - Setup a search box 2 - Terms being searched for are passed to script that makes calls on google and bing via cURL ( http://us.php.net/man... 3 - Parse the values returned. 4 - Done. |
