Title : Server Engineer (Linux/Java/PHP)

Overview :

We are seeking a talented Server Engineer who has provided production server support in a high traffic, consumer web environment. This is a great opportunity to join a leader in the Social Gaming space.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure production servers are supported (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP and Java).
• Respond to alerts/emergencies.
• Proactively monitor the health of the system (Nagios, Munin, etc.).
• Build, configure and deploy new hardware.
• Provide performance & capacity planning.
• Develop PHP and Linux scripts.
• Assist with the release\deployment of new code\features.
• Assist with troubleshooting PHP\Java code.

Skills for success include….

• Advanced Linux server support experience.
• Advanced support of LAMP stack environment.
• Advanced Linux scripting skills (PERL or Shell).
• Experience with Nagios and Munin network monitoring tools.
• Good understanding of Java, LAMP, ActionScript and Smartfox.
• Strong ability to thrive in fast paced, technology driven culture.
• Strong ability to be resourceful and provide solutions quickly.
• Strong ability to deliver world class support to software development teams.
• Strong background supporting high trafficked sites.
• Passion for having fun and interest in the gaming industry highly preferred.

Notes:

Candidates should be prepared to provide 24/7 support. Typical shift is 9-6 but rotational on call duty and monitoring support will be required.
