What you speak of in terms of a rewriter sounds exactly like what I want to do. I will actually be handling at least 125 subdomains to begin with and expanding quite a bit after that. With this in mind could you possibly give me a link or tell me what I need to google to accomplish what your talking about? I have never seen an example nor am I sure on how to begin searching for this.Any insight would be appreciatedthank youKevin

1) http://www.rackspace.com/apps/support/portal/1560/3820/1172
2) You probably want a subdomain URL of newfolder.myaddress.com, and NOT www.newfolder.myaddress.com.
3) It's much easier to maintain the pattern www.myaddress.com/myfolder, if that can work.

I have a virtual web server sitting out on RackSpace
and I have been trying to figure out how to configure
the web address so that it reads as follows:
www.myaddress.com is present web address
to:
www.newfolder.myaddress.com
I am trying to duplicate this behavior so I can configure my
server to run folders for a non-profit that I am trying to help
Basically I want to install folders inside my webspace and then point
my server to them without buying web addresses for each one,
but I am not sure what I should be studing to make it
happen.
Is this DNS? Or what is it called?
Can someone redirect me to a tutorial on this subject?
thank you
