I am an experienced PHP developer and software development team lead. I've been doing this for over 10 years and I've scaled sites that do several hundred million unique per month. I still learn something every time I attend one of these meet-ups. It may not always be something ground-breaking but there's always something. This is also a great place to get in contact with teams who are hiring developers if you're seeking a position. There are always at least 3 people in the room who are looking to add to their team.
